why are we bothered about adverts
we should be bothered about advertising because without it we wouldnt know about any new products. Also companies wouldnt sell anything and would run out of money.
why does advertising exist
It exists because without it no company would be able to tell people about products they made and they wont be able to sell it.

Conclusion to Representation
In my conclusion I will say that young people are represented badly in the media. They are stereotyped as aggressive vandals that are there to just cause trouble. This can affect youn people all over the world as they are not all bad people and even though a small minority of them are it gets the ones that arent treated differently by other groups of people. It also affects people who arent bad but hang in groups by places. This is because if a person sees a group of young people by a shop they will automatically think that they were bad and they wouldnt go near the shop but they might just be a group of nice people that are meeting up.
Section3-News
Section 3(News)- In 2011 a man in Tottenham called Mark Duggan was shot by the police after he was carrying a weapon and didn’t stop after being told to. This then spread to gangs all over England and caused riots to start. This was not the only reasons why riots spread. Other reasons were: government cuts and taxes not helping anyone.
The riots got worse by day and shops were vandalised, smashed then looted of all its valuable items. In Croydon a famous furniture shop called Reeves corner ,which has been a family business for ages, was burnt down!
People were forced to leave their homes and even on the streets people were being mugged and all their goods being stolen.
The other news story I have about young people being a bad group is the murder of a child called Rhys Jones. Rhys was 11 years old and was coming back from football training in Liverpool(Reece had just left primary school and was goin to Secondary school and he was known as a popular kind student). As he was coming back he was approached by an 18 year old called Sean Mercer who shot him in the back. Sean was then arrested on the 16 December 2008.
Section2-Films
Section 2(films)- In some films young people are also seen as bad but not in as many cases as in TV shows. The two examples I have for young people being bad in films are not really bad but do shows young people as trouble makers.
Harry Potter films(Draco Malfoy)- In this film Draco is always up to something suspicious. He is always picking on Harry and usually tries to get him hurt even though it never works. For example he is always trying to get fights with Harry and will cheat in school events to annoy him.
The other example I have is from Hot Fuzz- In this film there are a couple of ways where young people are stereotyped as a bad group. The parts where they are seemed as bad people are when Nicholas Angel(Simon Pegg) goes to the pub for the first time and there is a massive group of young people in hoodies loitering and when he comes back they have graffitid on the walls.
The other scene is also on that bit when he goes into the pub and asks all the younger people how old they are and all of them are underage and they are arrested.
Section1-TV Shows
Section 1(TV shows)- In many TV shows young people are shown as bad people who cause trouble. I have three examples of this.
South Park-Even though all characters in this TV show are bad one of the young people stand out the most. This character is called Eric Cartman. Eric Cartman is badly behaved as he is only young yet he swears many times and does anything to annoy people or teachers. He is also racist to a Jewsih character called Kyle and he bullys him for being Jewish. Cartman also does what he wants and gets what he wants or he will throw tantrums.
Another character is David from Coronation street- This character is around 19 years old and is usually causing trouble with others in arguments or even almost fist fights. He also can be very angry and can be very aggressive for example when he went on a violent rampage breaking and smashing anything in his way.
My final example is from a Family Guy episode- In one of the episodes a teenager called Kyle takes over Chris Griffins paper job and it causes many arguments. But Kyle just keeps on bullying Chris about him being quite large for his age and also he beats him up. This also has a bad influence on parents as later in this episode Chris’ father Peter goes to Kyle and beats him up when Kyle takes the mick out of him aswell.

Young people representation project intro
Introduction- For this media project I have chosen to look at the stereotyping and representation of young people. This is because as a young person myself I want to find out how we are stereotyped as it is usually in a negative way even though not all young people are bad. I am going to use films, TV shows and newspapers to see how we are stereotyped.
